Merriam-Webster defines resilience as:

  1. the capability of a strained body to recover its size and shape after deformation caused especially by compressive stress
  2. an ability to recover from or adjust easily to misfortune or change
    (https://www.merriam-webster.com/dictionary/resilience).

Resilience is the capacity to have INNER RESOURCES in order to deal with challenges. Certainly some of us may feel bent out of shape from the compressive stress of everyday life. Stress is a part of life. And necessary. It is a way of helping us direct energy in times of need in order to survive or thrive. However, in overload, stress leads to physical and mental exhaustion resulting in lower performance, eventually burnout, and sometimes chronic illness. Feelings of anger, impatience, frustration, and anxiety are sometimes overwhelming, and can add to the downward spiral of exhaustion and energy depletion.

If this sounds familiar, know that there are effective ways of dealing with stress and manage personal energy.

We are living in times of great stress, political and economic uncertainty, adding even more stress to our lives. If you or your team, are ready to look at managing stress, building resilience, resourcefulness and energy, contact me, and we can discuss a program for you.

The start and end date. Its the dash that counts…
